Online Giving FAQ

Questions & Answers

Are there any fees involved with online giving?

Yes, but not to you. You select the dollar amount for your gift, and that dollar amount will be recognized as your donation. You incur no additional costs or fees. Bethel Church pays approximately 3% of each contribution made by Visa or MasterCard for card processing services. You can choose to cover these fees if you would like by clicking the box above the 'Give now' button.

If Bethel Church wants to help people get out of debt, why is the use of credit card giving accepted?

Debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people use them in place of a check or cash, then pay off the balance in full each month. For these people, we offer the option of using a debit or credit card for giving. Bethel Church believes and teaches that living "debt free" should be an important financial goal for all Christians. We recommend and encourage the use of electronic funds transfer (EFT) through an Automated Clearing House (ACH) from a checking account* rather than a credit card. Although many pay off their credit cards each month, many others don't. Please do not go into debt and pay interest on any gifts given to the church. *ACH transactions are only $0.30 per transaction through our giving platform.

Why is online giving a good idea?

Giving online turns your intentions into reality with ease. After prayers, decide whether your desire is to make a one-time or recurring contribution. You don't have to remember to write out a check each Sunday or each month, or remember to mail it or drop it off when you're gone for an extended period. It's all entirely confidential. Giving online is a personal preference. Here are a few reasons online giving may be a benefit to you:

  • It helps prioritize and plan giving.
  • It helps simplify your giving. It allows you to give consistently. It allows you to focus on the service when you are at church.
  • No more check writing or ATM stops before church.
  • It is accessible from your mobile device.
  • It is safe, secure, and confidential.
  • You can use your checking, credit card, or debit card.
  • You can schedule recurring or one-time donations.
  • You can change a gift or account any time you like.
  • You can monitor your giving history and print statements, as needed.

If I want to set-up a recurring contribution, what are my options for the frequency of my gift?

Your scheduled contribution can be made one-time, weekly, every other week, monthly, or twice monthly.

Once I set up a scheduled contribution, can I change it or delete it?

How will I know that I set up my gift correctly?

Immediately after submitting your contribution, you will receive an email verifying your contribution.

When will contributions be taken from my account?

Contributions will be taken from your specified bank account within 48 business hours of the date you requested. This time frame allows the contribution to process through your bank and the church's bank. If the date of your contribution falls on a weekend or a holiday, the transactions will be initiated on the next business day.

How can I get a receipt of my online contribution?

You may print your Giving History page from your Online Giving account as a valid receipt. Your Online Giving gifts will also be included in your year-end contribution statement.
